Comprehensive Oral Examination
One of our dentists will conduct a thorough examination of every tooth, your gum tissue, your bite, your jaw joints, and the soft tissues of your mouth. We’re looking for decay, cracks, wear patterns, signs of gum disease, bite issues, and anything else that may need attention — now or in the future.
Full-Mouth Digital X-Rays
X-rays let us see what’s invisible to the naked eye — decay hiding between teeth, bone levels beneath the gumline, the roots of your teeth, and any developing issues that have no symptoms yet. Our digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film and produce instant, high-resolution images we can review with you chairside.
Periodontal (Gum) Evaluation
We measure the depth of the pockets around each tooth — a quick, painless process that tells us whether your gum tissue is healthy or showing early signs of gum disease. Catching this early makes an enormous difference in treatment complexity and outcome.
Oral Cancer Screening
We examine the lips, tongue, floor of the mouth, cheeks, and throat for any unusual tissue changes. Oral cancer is highly treatable when caught early — and this screening at every new patient visit is one of the most important things we do.
Your Personalized Care Plan
After the exam, your dentist will sit down with you and walk through everything they found — clearly, in plain language, without pressure. If treatment is recommended, we’ll explain exactly what it is, why it matters, and what happens if it’s delayed. You’ll leave your first appointment with a complete picture of your oral health and a prioritized plan that fits your timeline and budget.
Professional Cleaning (When Scheduled Together)
Many new patients schedule their comprehensive exam and cleaning at the same appointment. Depending on what we find, we’ll either complete your cleaning that day or recommend a different type of cleaning and schedule it accordingly.
