DR. RYAN BOGARD
Dr. Ryan Bogard is a board-certified Periodontist and is excited to help provide cohesive and
comprehensive care for patients at Markiewicz Dental!
EDUCATION
Dr. Ryan Bogard was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate
education at Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in
Psychology with a Minor in Biology. He then pursued his dental education at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. After
completing dental school, Dr. Bogard furthered his education and training by serving as the Chief
Resident at the University of Illinois-Chicago Periodontics Program. During his residency, he
gained expertise in various aspects of periodontics, including periodontal therapy, soft and hard
tissue augmentation, dental implants, and intravenous (I.V.) conscious sedation. Additionally, he
obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Oral Sciences, focusing his research on target
therapy for the treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Oropharyngeal Cancer.
DENTAL INTERESTS
Dr. Bogard holds the prestigious title of diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology,
which is the highest honor and certification in the field of Periodontics. Achieving board
certification involves a rigorous year-long examination process that assesses a deep
understanding of periodontal disease, soft tissue grafting, and surgical reconstruction involving
dental implants.His passion for periodontics is driven by the connection between oral and
systemic health, as well as the positive impact that periodontal therapy can have on his patients’
overall well-being. Dr. Bogard is dedicated to providing the best possible care for his patients
and is excited to be a part of the Mundelein and surrounding community!
ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bogard enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Blair,
traveling to different destinations, supporting his favorite sports teams, the St. Louis Cardinals
and Blues, and exploring the vibrant culinary scene of Chicago by trying out the newest and best
restaurants in the area.
